During our 7-day Isle of Skye Photography Workshop, we will visit two of the most picturesque areas of Scotland, Glencoe and the Isle of Skye. Throughout this workshop, we will be photographing during golden hour, where we’ll focus heavily on lighting, focus stacking, scale and multiple more techniques. Day 1 - Glasgow to Isle of Skye
After breakfast provided by the hotel, we will pack our bags, pack the car and begin our journey to the famous Isle Of Skye. Along the way, we will have numerous photographic/tourist stops to take in the sheer beauty of what Scotland has to offer.
In the afternoon, we will head to a location and capture the best of the golden hour before sitting down to warm up and fill our bellys with a welcome dinner together.
Day 2 & 3 – Southern Isle Of Skye
The Southern area of the Isle of Skye is a photography mecca! Home to the famous Cuillin Mountains ranges surrounded by fairytale waterfalls, incredible beaches and pristine rivers. Having this in our backyard for 2 entire days allows us to capture multiple compositions throughout the day, golden hour and possible night time.
Although Scotland, and especially the Isle of Skye, encounters such harsh and rugged weather patterns, this will work to our advantage, allowing us to capture the true essence of what Scotland has to offer.
Day 4 & 5 – Northern Isle of Skye
As the entire island, the Northern area of the Isle of Skye is rugged and harsh, but maybe on steroids. The wind blows harder, the waves crash higher, the stars glisten brighter, and best of all, the photography gets more epic!
Didn't think it was possible? Well, welcome to the Northern part of the Isle of Skye, home to the famous Quiraing, Neist Point Lighthouse, Old Man of Storr, and The Fairy Glen - make sure the batteries are full for these two full-on days of photography.
Day 6 – Isle of Skye to Glencoe
It wouldn't be a complete trip to Scotland if we visited and photographed the gorgeous Scottish Highlands. Breaking up the journey from the Isle of Skye to Glasgow, we will spend 24 hours in the famous Glencoe with an action-
packed day, visiting numerous locations throughout the day. Early sunrise shoots at the gorgeous Kilchurn Castle before heading back for Breakfast at the B&B. All-day we will be out photography Glen Etive and the local stags, making our way back into the heartland of the Scottish highlands, the three sisters. It may be a big day, but a gratifying one of the photography end.
Day 7 – Glencoe to Glasgow
Our last and saddest morning sees us capture an extremely famous location for sunrise, it may be our final morning, but the photography doesn't disappoint. After our final sunrise shoot, breakfast will be served, hot cuppa coffee before packing our bags and making the journey back to Glasgow.
Like always, the journey to Glasgow will not disappoint, stopping at more iconic locations in Scotland before arriving at Glasgow in the afternoon and ending the tour. That night Matthew will offer a farewell dinner in Glasgow to celebrate a fantastic week of good company, great photography and everlasting memories.
Join Matthew Storer for an Isle of Skye Photography Workshop, as we venture to the beautiful and photogenic Scottish Island, Isle of Skye. As a result, we will be photographing unique landscapes, waterfalls, epic cliffs, beaches and the stunning night sky! Over the seven days, we will be concentrating on composition, where to focus, exposure bracketing, panoramas, slow exposures, and more.
To utilise the conditions available to us, we promise to be on location before the optimal conditions to capture the best possible images. As a result, expect to be photograph sunrise, sunset and with clear skies at night – Star Photography!
During the tour, we will offer post-production methods and workflow in lightroom and image critique sessions. It is resulting in learning the photography process from another perspective.
In conclusion, a week-long workshop surrounded by great people, everlasting memories on the Isle full of natural beauty, history and wildlife

I had joined Matthew on tour to the Isle of Skye, Scotland. It was a fantastic trip in that he had scoped out all the locations and provided outstanding guidance to make great pictures. Having been on other tours, Matthew keeps the pace enjoyable as it still is a holiday, yet full to make sure you can get those great shots. I highly recommended this tour, that's coming from one very satisfied traveller/photographer.

This trip was far above and beyond my wild expectations of a photography tour. Being my first time in Great Britain and my first organised photography tour, Matthew had EVERY aspect covered. Matthew knowledge about the locations, being in the right place, at the right time of day. What I didn't expect was how much individual 1-on-1 time he dedicated to each photographer. A HUGE advantage of only having four photographers on tour!

One look at Matthew's website will tell you that he knows photography. His images are gorgeous, and he is generously willing to share his techniques and knowledge. His website won't tell you that Matthew's tours will give you a chance to travel with folks who will become friends, who will laugh with you, who will teach you, and who will be there to offer all the support you may need. I can't wait to chase the light with him again soon.
